The 2016 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "La Forge" comes from the youngest vines under 20 years of age. It offers plenty of dark berry fruit laced with sous-bois and light granitic scents, a hint of potpourri emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and crisp acidity, with touches of spice and black pepper furnishing the structured finish. It is remarkable how much it differs from the remaining parcels that constitute the grand vin despite being located within the same monopole. As such, it is a decent Morey-Saint-Denis to enjoy over several years but probably no longer. Drink Date : 2019-2025
