Jasper MORRIS, 2019: Further Tastings from the Côte de Nuit
LA FORGE DE TART 1er CRU
92
Rich dense purple, just on 14% alcohol which Clos de Tart can carry. The colour glows and the nose has more character than for the first two wines. Indeed the bouquet opens out with more time in the glass, becoming richer, glossier and smoother on the palate too. Cherries in kirsch come to mind, with some red fruit notes mixed in with the black. There is both firm acidity as well as tannins. Clos de Tart in a warm vintage is a muscular wine. I cannot fault the concentration, and the tannins will work very well in the long term.
