CLOS DE TART GRAND CRU MONOPOLE
96-98

Made with 55% whole bunch vinification, 65% new oak. Dense black centre with purple rim. There is a suggestion of an immense wealth of fruit here, though the detail is still to come. The depth though is spectacular. More dark fruit than red, but as ever both are in the equation. That little touch of wildness. Some very dark strawberries, and not quite a sensual finish but generous with very silky tannins. 13.8% alcohol and the best acidity of the three wines. Tasted: November 2021 * 5 star wine*
